The young sophomores continued their hot streak with yet another stellar performance against Wilson HS of the District of Columbia at Argyle CC in Silver Spring, MD on Tuesday, March 31. The Little Hoyas posted a team score of nine-over par 189 against Wilson's 278.
Denny McCarthy again led the Prep squad as the low scorer with a one-under par 35 on the front side of his home course. Greg Bourdon placed second with a steady one-over 37 while playing partner Nate Cohan managed a two-over 38. Matt Brown carded a 39 after a double-bogey finish on the uphill 406 yd ninth hole. Kyle Soltesz played steady golf en route to a 40, and Wes Strang had some difficulty with the gusty, swirling wind as he shot a 41.
Garrett Connell was Wilson's low scorer with a 48. Because of the conditions and skill levels, the "double par" maximum was used in this event for several of the Wilson players.
Prep's next match will be this coming Monday, April 6 at Norbeck CC in Rockville, MD against Loyola Blakefield of Baltimore.
