Senior Wins IAC title

Matt Brown (capt.) dashed the upset hopes of Adam Stowe of Episcopal who waited patiently by the 18th green to see if anyone would beat his two-under round of 69. Matt's birdie putt on the short closing par 5 enabled him to win his first major high school individual championship with a three-under 68. The tournmanet was played over the White/Blue nines at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
Last year's winner, Denny McCarthy, struggled with his putter throughout the day and posted one-over 72 to tie for third along with teammate Nate Cohan. Wes Strang and Greg Bourdon tied for tenth with 76s while Sam Spikell shot 82.
Prep won its fourth straight IAC tournament title with a record round of 364, good for a 22 stroke victory. Bullis tied Landon for second place in the tournament when Valanos came in late with a 76 to save a portion of the day.
